Spring Concert 2016

Mozart as a precocious 13-year-old–Schubert at 19, on fire with musical inspiration–a young Mendelssohn touring Italy, composing as he goes. Musica Viva Singers celebrate the roots of genius with “When They Were Young: Composing Prodigies”.

Under the direction of Scott Richardson, and joined by a superb ensemble of soloists and instrumentalists, Musica Viva present early gems by prodigies of the Classical era. These works are paired with brand-new compositions by rising stars on the contemporary Canadian scene, including Kathleen Allan, Matthew Emery, and Nick Piper.

Join us Monday, May 9 at Centretown United Church, 507 Bank Street, 7:30 p.m. Tickets available at the door ($20 adult/$15 student & senior) or through www.eventbrite.ca (see ticket link on this page: handling fees apply).
